Rebrand / OlyFed

For many people, money can feel stressful, even though it’s meant to help us move through the world. I wanted to get away from the traditional jargon and make banking and finances feel approachable.

On my first day at Olympia Federal Savings, I wrote a simple brand motto to guide my work: Help People Feel Good About Their Money. At the time, most of the creative pieces felt inconsistent and filled with insider language that felt unapproachable. Over 10 years, I worked toward a more relationship-based and inclusive brand, one step at a time.

If something didn’t feel right or enjoyable to create, I paused and revisited it, even when that meant slowing down until my expectation was met. When the website redesign came up, I saw it as the right moment to make my brand move and show what stronger design could do. The work ultimately won out, and it helped shift the brand into something cohesive, unique and truly authentic.
